Woman On Top Sex Positions

One of the things that men don't understand about sexual intercourse is that it isn't always necessary or even desirable for the woman to have an orgasm.

Men are very hung up on knowing how to make a woman come, and they don't appreciate that women don't necessarily need to come (i.e. reach orgasm) for sex to be an enjoyable experience for them. Sex has many meanings for a woman, from the experience of emotional and physical connection to her partner, all the way through to the expression of her exuberant, vigorous female sexuality. It's the latter of these meanings that's most important when we consider the woman on top sex positions. For only when a woman is actually on top of her partner during the act of lovemaking can she really express her full sexuality, her ability to control the rhythm and pace of intercourse, and her full feminine sexual power. A bold claim?

Well, it may seem to be, but consider the facts: when a woman is on top during lovemaking, she's pretty much able to do whatever she wants, both to bring herself to orgasm and to bring her man to orgasm, either quickly or slowly, as she sees fit. Even men who experience premature ejaculation may find that when the woman is on top they develop a greater ability to control their ejaculation.

This is simply because when the woman is on top, she can control the pace of sex, and the man isn't able to give way to his urgent biological instinct to thrust hard and fast, and ejaculate as quickly as possible. On the contrary, his partner can actually tease him by riding him slowly or quickly as she desires, slowing down the rhythm of sex when she feels that he is approaching the point of no return (that's the point at which he must ejaculate and has no choice in the matter), or speeding up the rhythm of sex when she feels that his arousal is dropping.

And she can alter the angle of penetration by leaning her body forwards or backwards as she chooses, thereby ensuring that the pressure on her G spot and the pressure on the man's erect penis are altered to give them both the maximum pleasure and satisfaction, the pleasure that is most fulfilling for them both during their lovemaking. Furthermore, the depth of penetration is also under her control, which is far from the case when the man is on top, holding her down, or perhaps just pinning down with his weight, and thrusting into her in in the grip of his sexual desire and arousal.

Another advantage:, a woman can maneuver her body in the woman on top sex position so that her clitoris gets sufficient stimulation for her to reach orgasm. This is one of the main reasons why woman on top is a good position for a woman – a woman can have an orgasm easily, simply by maneuvering into a position where she can rub her clitoris against her man's body or against his penile shaft, as intercourse proceeds.

But even though there are some desirable aspects to woman on top sex, there are also a number of cautions and possible disadvantages. None of these are significant enough to make woman on top sex uncomfortable or unpleasant, but they are worth knowing about.

The most obvious danger is that the man's penis slips out of the woman as she rides her man up and down whilst squatting over his pelvis.

If sex is moving at a fast rate, she may well not be bale to stop after he slips out of her, then she may come down and land on his penis, bending it into an awkward angle – if bent sufficiently, it can be bruised or damaged internally, perhaps even suffering a fracture of the internal fibrous tissue that holds the erectile chambers together.

So it's important that you both take care not to move in such a way that there's a risk of the penis slipping or popping out of the vagina. One way that you can easily avoid this is for the woman to squat over the man and then move her hips in a circular pattern – this is a sex technique called "churning the butter", and it certainly can produce ecstatic sensations for the man, sensations which can far outweigh those produced by normal thrusting. It's the complete encircling of his glans by the woman's vagina makes this sex position variation so exquisite.

Another advantage of this position is that the man has easy access to the woman's clitoris – although she can also get to it herself, and it's important to remember that it's not always the man's job to know how to make woman orgasm in sex. In addition, he can fondle her breasts and caress her belly and breasts as well.

For those men who like women's breasts, the site of them moving up and own as she rides him can be incredibly erotic. And don't forget there's pleasure to be gained when she moves  forward so that her chest is on his and her nipple lie in close proximity to his; in this sexual position a couple can embrace each other, hold each other close, and caress however they desire, thereby adding to the intimacy and eroticism of intercourse.... and the man can also run his hands over her back and down her buttocks, contact which is extremely arousing and sensuous for both partners.

You may well have heard of delayed ejaculation? it's a condition in which sexual intercourse does not necessarily give a man enough stimulation for him to reach the point of ejaculation. There are several causes, and some cures, but one of the factors that definitely helps a man with retarded or delayed ejaculation is finding the best sex positions for extra stimulation to his penis. This can include positions where the woman's legs are tighter, positions where the woman can add to stimulation of his penis with her hands, and sex positions where the man can thrust hard and deep. when combined with the excitement of anal stimulation, I even had one client in my sex therapy practice who found he was able to ejaculate during sex for the first time in years! This was one of the most successful retarded ejaculation treatments I ever facilitated!

And it's not necessary for the woman to engage in vigorous or extensive movements of her body to make sex good, although this can be fun! This sex position lends itself to small movements of her hips, and also to short or long pauses in lovemaking which are absolutely ideal for her to practice  squeezing her man's penis with the muscles of her vagina. This can be incredibly erotic; in fact it can be so erotic that a man may be brought to orgasm without any movement of her pelvis.

There's a lot to be said for this lovemaking position because it's intimate; when the man's powerful desire to thrust and ejaculate is diminished and quenched somewhat by the fact he's lying on his back underneath his woman and his movement is limited, there's another side of sex that can emerge, a gentler one perhaps, but certainly one that gives the man a very different experience of intercourse, and one that allows the woman to express to the full her powerful dominance and sexuality.

This role reversal can be a very revealing experience: for instance it will tell you if the man has a problem giving up control during sex, which can be a metaphor for a couple's relationship on a wider front. It also gives the woman the opportunity to experience sexual dominance, in a role reversal, one where she "takes" her man rather than him "taking her" during the act of lovemaking.

It's certainly possible for a woman to enter a sexual state which is very different to one that she normally enjoys when having intercourse. She can move without restriction, she can express her sexuality to the full (assuming, that is, that she's fairly uninhibited), she has the power to take her man to orgasm, and to give him immense pleasure – which is extremely rewarding itself for most women. And on top of all that, she may reach orgasm herself during intercourse!

What else? Well, free to move, she might feel inclined to make as much noise as her man usually makes during intercourse, and if she reaches orgasm, then the power of her coming may be so great that it tips her man over into a powerful orgasm as well.

The only problem that might arise for a couple is when the man's erect penis lies horizontally along his belly (when he is lying on the bed on his back). In such a case, it is necessary for the woman to angle her body all the way forward so that the couple's chests are in close proximity: this should alleviate any discomfort resulting from his penis being bent against its natural angle in other positions.

By contrast, if the man's penis is long and flexible, then the woman can actually lean her body a long way backwards to increase the pressure on her G spot; and to increase this even more, she can actually turn all the way round and face away from her man, a position known as the "reverse cowgirl" sexual position. This will not suit everybody, but it's well worth experimenting with; it can be a very exciting position.  

One way in which the woman can make woman on top sex more exciting and rewarding for both partners is for her to remain in an upright sitting position after she has inserted a man's penis into her vagina, and then to add a "twist".

To do this, as she raises and lowers her body, she moves her pelvis: during the downward stroke, she moves her pelvis and pubic region downwards and backwards at the same time; as she rises up on her man's erect penis, she raises her pubic bone and thrusts it forwards. If you imagine the vaginal opening as an oval, whose axis is from top to bottom, during the downward stroke, the movement of the pelvis causes pressure on the upper front wall of her vagina - which can be very satisfying for her - and on the glans of the man's penis, which can be very satisfying for him.

During the upward stroke, the pressure changes so that it is on the vaginal opening and the shaft of the man's penis. When she is at her lowest point as she descends, the man has a wonderful feeling of his penis being completely surrounded by her vagina on all sides.

When the woman pauses at the bottom of her stroke, there is a moment in which both of them will feel a fantastic sense of muscular contraction and vibration. This is the moment at which the penis penetrates most deeply into the woman's body, giving a sense of great intimacy, connection, and sexual pleasure.

It's even possible that the penis can come into contact with the cervix; when this happens, it is possible to set up a vibration between glans and cervix as the woman moves her pelvis from side to side. This can add a whole new dimension to the sexual feeling that both partners experience in the woman on top sex position, caused by the fact that the neck of the uterus is loose and free, and hangs down into the vaginal canal, to swing against the erect penis.

In fact, there are two ways to achieve this pleasure. The first is for the woman to rhythmically sway her body sideways as described above; the other is for her to move her hips in a circular corkscrew motion. This can actually produce a different sensation to the sideways movement, and it is usually more pleasurable for the man than the alternative described above. However it's actually easier for the woman to move from side to side: the circular motion is more difficult to maintain.

As I mentioned above, woman on top sex positions tend to preclude the possibility of bodily contact unless the woman is leaning forward so that her chest is lying against the man's. Nonetheless, the man has fantastic view of the woman's body, which in itself can be very arousing. Furthermore, the couple can actually look into each other's eyes very easily, and the excitement that each is feeling is easily conveyed to the other.

To reinforce the sense of excitement, it's actually possible for both man and woman to play with the genitals of the other, which is a great opportunity for additional stimulation and mutual caressing.

Finally I should mention that woman on top sex positions are great when the man is tired and the woman has more energy: the woman is able to stimulate her clitoris herself whilst pleasuring her man, which might, in some women's eyes, be an ideal sexual formula!
